We spent Labor Day weekend camping with Heidi and the most lovely family, who are also lucky enough to be our cousins! They have three (two boys and a baby girl) and together with our three, we are kind of a force to be reckoned with! Our boys get along fantastically and there is never a dull moment. We planned to camp at a State Park, right on the beach, but just above a train track.
As the weekend neared, we decided it would not be in anyone's best interest to sleep next to a rumbling and honking train, which is rumored to barrel through up to 6 times at night. So, we "day camped" instead! Highly recommend it.
We checked into our spot, unloaded the coolers and did all the normal camping stuff. We spent the day at the beach, scaling rock cliffs, searching for crabs and enjoying our unseasonably warm weekend. As evening neared, we made a fire and grilled hotdogs and made the tastiest foil dinners. Smore's followed. Of course.
Instead of sleeping there, we piled into our cars and headed away from the track--them back to their home close by, and we and actually did camp, but in Tricia's backyard (right next to the State Park, but up off the train track). I could have seen sleeping in a bed that night though, and felt fulfilled, like I had truly had the camping experience.

This was our third campout of the summer. We will definitely do it again, but might just choose a better campground next time.
Sweet cousins. Oh, how Bereket loves babies, especially Nina.
