I just thought I'd share a few pics from our fun evening with five other families who have/are adopting from Ethiopia. We had 11 adults and 5 kids (3 years and under) here tonight. I made some Ethiopian food and others brought some snacks. We hung out and mostly just played with the kids and compared experiences. It was great! All of the couples are fantasti

c people who we would enjoy spending time with even if we didn't have our children in common. We knew Amanda and Josh, and the others we've met through our agency's online forum or through mutual friends. The kids had fun running back and forth from the front entry to the kitchen, through the living room...plenty of space to run apparently. A 'test-run' on how baby-proof our place is--we almost passed the test...we had a couple pieces of furniture turn over when climbed on. We decided to try to get togeth

er every 2 months. For the next gathering we're going to invite an Ethiopian woman, that Amanda knows, to teach us how to create a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony and maybe some Ethiopian foods.
Being with these kids makes us even more excited for what we have to look forward to in the next few months. They are so much fun to play with and watch...we are so grateful for this new community that our baby has already helped us connect to!

That is awesome! So great to have a community to get together with and to support each other. What fun to get to hang out and see the babes, too!
I love the pictures!
